“We are investing a lot in youth,” says Gerhard Kohl, U10 coach at SV Gösendorf JAZ proudly. The club does not call itself a “youth training centre” for nothing, abbreviated to “JAZ” in German. The sports club has at least two coaches for each U team and even offers individual training. This enormous commitment, however, costs not only a lot of time but also money. This is precisely why long-term partnerships and sponsors are so important to the club.
“Our goal is to train children in a way that is specifically dedicated to football,” explains youth coordinator Alexander Köhler. Whether it’s amateur football or professional sport, at JAZ Gösendorf, the kids are trained and perfectly prepared for admission to an academy or for integration into their own competitive team. It is especially important for the coaches that the young players identify themselves with the values of the club and that parents are also involved in events and tournaments.
